I was so lucky to have participated in two very special charity events lately. I supplied some cupcakes for the LauraLynn Foundation open day very recently and then took part in the coffee morning in aid of Our Ladies Hospice & Care Service at the Lucan Spa Hotel.
The LauraLynn foundation was founded in 1925 and is a hospice for children with life limiting conditions and residential care for young adults with disabilities. They do amazing work which is why they were the first organization to come to mind when I decided to do something small to give back.
I baked 72 cupcakes (which I didn’t get a proper picture of!) in chocolate, vanilla and red velvet with a swirl of buttercream and the LauraLynn logo on top of each one.
The organization were so so happy with my donation which was amazing for me. It felt great to do something small considering Koala Cupcakes is doing so well. Anyone that does anything to help someone else will understand the feeling of helping, even if it is just something small.
The coffee morning in the Lucan Spa Hotel came along shortly after in aid of Our Ladies Hospice & Care Service. This charity was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1879 and they continue the Sisters mission by providing high quality, person-centered health and social care services in the Hospice and community with loving care.
Each year, a lot of people and organisations take part in this coffee morning with the hope of raising funds for the charity. This year, I was so happy to find out that The Lucan Spa Hotel were organising their own coffee morning for the cause and I had a chance to take part. I made mini apple tarts, vanillas cupcakes and an Oreo cheesecake.
The Lucan Spa Hotel managed to raise an outstanding €2010.00 in total for the charity which is amazing work and I am so glad I got to contribute to it, even if it was only something small.
These are the first of many charity events I hope to get involved with. It always feels amazing to give back and I can’t wait to give back some more!
